Has anyone heard about 50-year-old Madonna's January "retox" regime that she is embarking upon in hopes of knocking 12 years off her appearance? I have been reading about how salmon has age-defying properties and unfortunately, it is not one of my favorite foods. According to Nicholas Perricone, MD, anti-aging expert, salmon contains the anti-oxident, astaxanthin, causing Vitamin C and E to work longer, promoting the health of our skin and eyes. Salmon is an excellent source of protein which is needed to make all skin cells: skin, hair, eyes, muscles, and organs. It also contains a healthy fat found in the Omega 3 which promotes HDL to reduce the negative effect of LDL cholesterol. I really wish I liked salmon because it is really the perfect food.
