I've noticed more and more women over 50 looking like they're in their 30's. I see women like Jaclyn Smith and Christie Brinkley and I wonder what their secrets are. I'm sure with the money they have, they can afford to spend hundreds on their skin. But, what about the average person? There are affordable procedures and products on the market and we can all hope that we're not spending our money in vain. I believe a person should do all she can, to look her best. In the first five years after menopause, a woman's skin loses up to 30% of its collagen. There is a product on the market called Imedeen Prime Renewal. It is taken in tablet form. It has been clinically and scientifically proven to lessen visible lines, wrinkles and age spots , step up skin density and firmness and cut free-radical damage by up to 75%. These pills can keep you ahead of "the change" by stimulating collagen formation and protecting skin cells while visibly toning, lifting, and making you look younger. You can purchase these from Bliss. However, they are quite expensive. When I run across products such as these, I'll give them a try for a while. If the product doesn't work, I discontinue using it. With anything, you need to give it a few months. I think women over 50 shouldn't try to look like they're 20 or even 30, but they should try to look their best for their own self- esteem. I don't think you should give in to Mother Nature and let yourself go with all the technology that has enabled us to look better. Face lifts and and other surgeries that make the face look years younger, aren't for everyone. But, most people are o.k. with taking vitamins/supplements or using facial creams or having facials. Do what you feel comfortable with, but your main goal should be to stay healthy and healthy looking. Sometimes a few wrinkles are overlooked if you have healthy glowing skin, healthy hair with a flattering cut, and maintain a healthy weight. Also, I think one thing that ages a person is dull teeth. There are a number of bleaches on the market. I have used LifeLike for several years, but my sister just recommended Opalescence teeth whitener. I found it on Amazon.com and it is cheaper than LifeLike. I already had my trays, so I didn't have to purchase those. If you want to save even more, try over-the-counter Crest White Strips. They work o.k., but not nearly as well as professional products. And last, but not least, get enough sleep. I've noticed within the past few months, that I look much older if I haven't had at least seven hours of sleep.
