I love getting chemical peels! Well, let me rephrase that......I love the look of my skin after a chemical peel. They're really not fun, but they are so worth the misery. I like the Jessner Peel, but I have found another one that I really, really like. The Vi Peel is supposed to be done in a doctor's office, but I have found them for sale on ebay. If you have already had peels done by a professional, then you should be o.k. buying one and doingit yourself. The procedure is really simple. You just apply the liquid to your face with a gauze pad. And then follow the directions for washing and moisturizing. BE SURE TO WEAR GLOVES. I didn't and my fingertips got dry, cracked, and peeled. The Vi Peel will refresh and brighten a complexion, reduce acne scarring and hyperpigmentation due to sun damage or melasma (pregnancy), refine skin tone, create a bit more tightness, firmness to the face, smooth outfine lines around eyes, forehead, and mouth. It is made up of a combination of phenol, retinol, salicylic, and other acids. Most ads you see will say "No Downtime" or "No Pain" Well, I can't really agree with those statements. When you put it on, it burns pretty badly. But, it doesn't last long. You may want to keep a fan nearby to cool your face. The next day your face will probably pretty red and shiny. Most people will not start peeling on the 2nd day. I started peeling on the 3rd day. My face was really dry and felt like it was going to crack. It was especially dry around my mouth and chin. My face became drawn up and wrinkled and then the skin started peeling off. I really didn't want to go out in public that day. I thought it was all gone by that evening. The next day, I had a little flaking left, but nothing major. On the fifth day, it started peeling again! I was a little worried. It peeled most of the day. And then the next day it was flaking again on the 6th day. After that, it started improving drastically. The purpose of a peel is to peel away dead, damaged skin and reveal new skin. My skin looks really good now. It has been 8 days. I had a few sunspots left after my last Jessner Peel, but this one has completely removed them. It will not get rid of deep wrinkles, but it does improve the very fine lines. I see the biggest improvement in the texture and tone of my skin than with anything else. If you would like to go to the Vi Peel's website and read more about it, go to www.kalilmedical.com. If you want to get one, and feel safe doing it yourself, you will find the best deals on ebay. There is one on there for $100 with free shipping (this is a great deal). And then they increase in price and go as high as $150 or so. These prices are great compared to what you would pay to have this done in an office setting.
