Happy Summer Everyone!!  It's been a while since my last post.  I hope everyone is well and enjoying the warmer weather.  This is my favorite time of year.  I love spending time at the lake, cooking out, lying by the pool, and being around friends and family.  I'm looking forward to going to the Bahamas in August.  So, I'm spending a lot of time working out at the gym.  It's so much easier to get motivated in the summer.  Dieting is easier as well.  Fresh fruits and vegetables  always taste better in the summer.  I can't believe the year is half over!!  Take some time and enjoy the summer of 2009.

My name is Judy.  I am 43 years old, happily married, with one son and two step-children. I also have two basset hounds, Hannah and Flash. I have a full time job and spend a lot of time doing housework, laundry, grocery shopping, and everything else that women do.   But, I do find time during the day to do things for myself.  I have found this to be the secret for a happy life.   It seems that when most women reach their mid-thirties they begin to live in a rut.  At this point in our lives, many women spend little time doing things for themselves, or doing things that make them happy.  I designed this blog to be sort of a “sisterhood”.  Many of us are so busy we don’t have time to get together with our friends like we used to.  When we were in high school most of us were part of a “Clique” This website is a special “Clique” for women who are in their mid-thirties and older.  It is for sharing ideas for celebrating our lives and who we have become.  I am no expert,  I spend quite a bit of time researching and trying products and procedures for anti-aging.  I also like to travel, workout at the gym, run, shop, watch movies and eat. The eating usually contradicts my dieting plan, but oh, well. I hope to eventually attract hundreds of readers who will participate and share their ideas along with mine.  We can all read information on the internet and see advertisements for products on TV and in magazines.  But, it would be great to hear first hand from real people about what works and what doesn’t. There are many beauty blogs circulating, but a lot are from professionals and people who are trying to sell their products. This blog is also designed to discuss favorite places to travel, and what you liked or didn’t like about a certain place or accommodation. We can also post recipes, pictures, diet and exercise tips, and rate movies. Although we may never meet in person, we will develop a special friendship online and belong to our own “clique”.  Some may spend hours on this site and some may click on just for a few minutes a day to keep in touch.   Whatever the case may be, it will be fun to share our ideas with others throughout the world in our age bracket. The possibilities of this blog are endless.  I look forward to developing new friendships and hope you will as well. Please forward this link to anyone you think might be interested! I hope it can become a place for women to turn when they need a friend or need advice from a friend.  Feel free to express your ideas, but please keep it clean.  I don’t want to offend anyone and have no interest in discussing X-rated, immoral, or illegal issues.  I want this to be fun, entertaining, and informative!!!

Vi Peel

Just a quick update.....I got a Vi Peel last weekend.  It peeled all week long.  Yeah, it was miserable. By Tuesday, most had peeled off, but then, my face turned really red and got super tight.  The corners of my mouth were even cracking.  And then, on Friday it started peeling again.  And peeled until Sunday.  Today, it looks really good.  This is probably one of the best peels ever.  Most of my sunspots on my face are gone.  My neck and chest look really good, too. I really don't think it effects fine lines and wrinkles too much, but it works wonders on texture.  I'm going to start using my LED light again this weekend.  I also purchased Coppertone's new SPF 70 lotion and I am determined to use it this summer.  I'd like to get a little tan and use a lot of self-tanning lotions.

Save Your Skin

Tan I just read an article in Self magazine that said the ozone layer, which absorbs UVA and UVB rays before they hit the earth, has a hole that has grown nearly 250 percent in 20 yrs., due in part to man-made gases.  Doctors add that the larger ozone hole is one reason why melanoma rates have doubled over the past three decades.  It is more important than ever to wear sunscreen.  Even on days when the sun isn't that bright or it isn't that warm, you should wear sunscreen.  You should even wear it during winter months.  I am paying the price for years spent in the sun with little or no sunscreen at all.  I spend thousands a year on Botox, chemical peels, light treatments, and products.  All of this could have been minimized if I had just listened.  Luckily, I have become wise to the fact that sun can really damage your skin.  Especially now with the ozone layer increasing the size of the holes.  In the same issue of Self, I saw an add for Coppertone's new NutraShield that has Dual Defense.  It is a sunscreen with antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals to help skin repair itself and also has advanced UVA/UVB sun protection.  It has a 70 SPF and reduces visible signs of sun damage in just 2 weeks.  I love being in the sun and just can't avoid it.  But, I will definitely try this new product by Coppertone.  Not only is it a sunscreen, it is a beauty product.
